Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Children's courses

We recommend starting ski lessons from the age of 4.

Especially for the very young participants, the motivation is not the same every day. That’s why we give them the opportunity to get a taste of the element of skiing for one day. If you like, after the course can be extended without problems and without inflation. This minimizes the risk of losing money and time.

We offer 2 hours per day only for the youngest participants (3-4 year olds). All older (from the age of 5) we teach 4 hours per day.

If you do not already have your accommodation near the meeting point, there is the possibility to use the local village bus (free ski bus). We also offer the children the opportunity to ride our Wurzi Express in the morning before the course and in the afternoon after the course. This runs almost daily from the cable car Dorfbahn to the Märchenwald.

It is advisable to be nearby, but not visibly present, as the children will only be unnecessarily distracted from the essentials. We have trained staff who take the best care of the children.

Yes! This ensures in advance that your child still gets a free place. We always reserve some seats, but unfortunately this does not guarantee availability on your arrival day.

Simply book a test day. This way you and your child can see if you like our offer and if so, the course can be extended on site at the ski school office to a total of 4 or 6 days (this then costs the same in total as booking the whole period immediately).

Full-day classes are held from 10:00 – 12:00 and from 13:00 – 15:00.
Funkids are taught either from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (depending on bookings received, the morning session will be filled first, followed by the afternoon session if needed)

Yes, definitely! One hour is not very long. Especially in the busy vacation weeks, we recommend not to do without it to escape from the hustle and bustle especially on vacation. Our ski school has seats in the restaurants, the children get enough food and drinks and we provide supervision.

On the first day, before the course actually begins, the classification according to ability and age takes place at the fairy tale forest by the ski instructors.

Yes, if the children’s ability is not too far apart. Please let us know your request when you are scheduled on site and we will try our best!

No, just let us know by e-mail (skischule@unterwurzacher.com) and briefly when you are assigned at the assembly point. A change to another group is then no problem.

Yes, on Wednesdays there is the possibility for all children to participate in our ski race including award ceremony and medal presentation.

Group courses

To make a reservation please write us an e-mail to skischule@unterwurzacher.com with the following data:
→ Name, age and ability
→ Start day
→ Ski or snowboard lessons
→ Holiday accommodation
→ Mobile phone number on vacation

Yes, but on the first day a cheaper ski pass for the T-bar lift alone can be purchased on site (please bring some cash). Depending on the success, it can be the case that already on the second day a full ski pass for the entire Zillertal Arena is required.

Most of our teachers speak German, English and also Dutch. However, depending on the teacher assignment, we cannot guarantee that you will be taught by a teacher who has a good command of your language (Dutch).

General Group Courses

Our beginner courses start exclusively on Sundays. Participants who already have a little experience can also join during the week. Please ask at the ski school office on the day of arrival if there are still available places.

The fairy tale forest is located on the west side of Königsleiten near the hotels “Sterngucker” and the “Königsleitner”, the meeting point is on the eastern edge of the slope opposite our conveyor belts and the big drag lift.

The material is not included. You can find the price list of our rental here: https://www.unterwurzacher.eu/winter/rent/

For a group course to take place, we need at least 5 participants.
Even a reserved course is not exempt by the minimum number of participants.
Should the number of participants in the children’s courses fall to the minimum level, the groups will be merged as best and as sensibly as possible.

We always try to accommodate a maximum of 10 participants in a group to guarantee quality instruction.

Yes, of course. We only need a certificate from a local doctor for this.

Most of the time the booking confirmation and or the answer to your e-mail slipped into your spam folder. Please check it and if not, please contact us again. In the rarest of cases, your request was overlooked or not answered.

Private courses

Just send us an email to skischule@unterwurzacher.com with the following content:
→ Name, age, ability and number of participants
→ Ski or snowboard lessons
→ Holiday accommodation
→ Mobile phone number on vacation
→ Desired days, desired times (09:00 – 11:00,11:15 -13:15 or 13:30 – 15:30).

We will send you an answer about the availability as soon as possible.

From our experience, we recommend a maximum of 2 hours a day, as private lessons are very intensive. It is better to have 4 hours divided into 2 days (2×2 hours), rather than 4 hours a day at a stretch, to ensure a better training effect.

Basically, the sooner the better! Especially on the first days of the vacation, our private instructors can be booked up quickly.

Basically yes.
In this case, the one with the weaker skiing level will benefit the most, since the priate instructor will primarily deal with this one in order to reach the level of the other one.

If the skill level is too far apart, we generally advise two private instructors. For example, we would never send our ski instructor out with beginners and experienced riders together for no reason.

We are also happy to teach children in private. However, it is not conducive to teaching children and adults together due to the different teaching methods.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. A teacher cannot teach both divisions at the same time. For this purpose 2 teachers are needed.

The meeting point will be discussed when you pick up your ticket at the ski school office. You can choose between the ski school office or the fairy tale forest as a meeting point.

Yes, we also offer guided ski tours. For this, both the weather, the snow conditions and the skiing level of the participants must be suitable. Just check with the ski school office within your vacation week for options.

Payment modalities

On site in the ski school office we accept EC card, Visa, MasterCard and of course cash payment.
The online store offers EC card, Visa, Mastercard and Sofortüberweisung as payment methods.

By agreement with the ski school office and a medical certificate from a doctor known to us, the operator can pay the unused lesson time either in cash or by bank transfer. It is also possible to transfer the remaining amount to private courses (also for other family members or friends).

Rental

Actually, no. Our rental has enough material even in the vacation weeks. If you want to be on the safe side and want to have everything done in advance, you also have the possibility to book the material online: ONLINE- Booking

It also saves time on the journey.

This is no problem due to our state-of-the-art machines. Depending on the appearance of the skis or snowboard, the service can sometimes be done for you very quickly. Simply have your material checked by our service staff.

We can very well offer you more: Fatbikes (E-bikes with very wide tires and spikes for snow and ice), snowbikes, cross-country & skating, ski touring sets, toboggans and snowshoes are ready for you!

Yes there are! Our ski depot has 2-person and 4-person lockers in which skis/snowboard, poles, ski boots and gloves can be stored in a lockable and heated manner.
